Johanna (Jo) came along to an early 3n8s gig to see her pal Phyl in action, danced all night and asked if she could join the band … the rest is history!

An incredible musician, Jo also played with other bands including The Dave Beatson Big Band – described as “Scotland’s best jazz big band”. Jo can be seen on sax in the video Big Band - Star Wars Theme

Sadly, Jo’s life was cut short in June 2020 after a long fight with cancer. The band’s ‘Leopard Print Hearts’ album is dedicated to Jo with the Gaelic phrase “Gus an coinnich sinn a-rithist” which translates as “until we meet again”.

Jo’s sax/trumpet and shakey things are captured forever on a number of tracks on the album.
